Hoffmann Murtaugh Awarded Pittsburgh’s Best Places to Work Nomination Following a Year of Record Agency Growth

Best Places to Work

Refreshing the Agency as the Agency Grows

Minutes after the meeting started, roll call was in progress. Roll call. Two years prior, you could easily count to yourself the number of people in the meeting. Now, roll call was necessary to make sure no one was missed. When it was time for the meeting to officially start, so many faces were on the screen that together mode in Microsoft Teams became the only way to see everyone at the same time. With the addition of more faces to the meetings, you would think it would feel less intimate and maybe more mundane. However, thanks to our company culture, it feels the complete opposite which influenced our first nomination for Pittsburgh’s Best Places to Work.

Hoffmann Murtaugh’s impressive growth sparked the need for the team to adapt to a new company culture that would create an inviting work environment and attract well-suited candidates. In 2019, Shea Murtaugh, Founder, and President of Hoffmann Murtaugh started to develop healthy company culture practices by establishing monthly culture meetings, reconstructing the hiring process, and adding employee benefits that emphasize the idea that life comes before work. The shift in company culture started from the most senior to junior team members which have positively affected overall work. As a result, clients took notice of the team’s transparency, safety, and consistency.

Now, company culture is a priority and crucial to the foundation of the agency. The team may have grown exponentially, but the feel of each meeting still reflects those of the early days. Life updates, input, and laughter are still shared when connecting with coworkers because of the company culture we have built together.

The Best Places to Work Nomination Helped Validate All Efforts

As Hoffmann Murtaugh closes out our seventeenth year of agency business operations, we’d like to reflect on our record-breaking, trendsetting year. Since 2020, we’ve increased our revenue and team of media experts by 50 percent. With a growing and healthy team, we are hungry to garner even greater success for our clients. We’ve achieved a lot in 2021, and that is thanks to the amazing, passionate, and intelligent people amplifying media plans and the support our Founder and President, Shea Murtaugh, has created for the integrated media agency. We are humbled and honored by any and all accolades received, but awards that showcase our professional team and work environment mean the most.

The Pittsburgh Business Times recently named Hoffmann Murtaugh to its 2021 Best Places to Work list. Released in early November, this year’s honoree list recognized 75 nominated Pittsburgh businesses for their commendable workplace efforts. Our commitment as an integrated media agency to employing a collaborative, diverse, experienced team is recognized with the recent distinction from the Pittsburgh Business Times.

As a certified women’s owned enterprise (WBE) nationally and small diverse business (SDB) with the state of Pennsylvania, Hoffmann Murtaugh’s media industry expertise was honored in the ‘Small Category’ for the Pittsburgh office.
